Seyed Abbas Araghchi the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Ronald Lamola the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa held a telephone conversation on Wednesday to discuss and exchange views on the latest regional developments following the cessation of military aggression by the Zionist regime and the US against Iran.

Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Ronald Lamola, the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa, held a telephone conversation on Wednesday to discuss and exchange views on the latest regional developments following the cessation of military aggression by the Zionist regime and the US against Iran.

The Iranian foreign minister expressed appreciation for South Africa’s stance in condemning the military aggression of the apartheid Zionist regime against Iran.

He stressed that the unlawful and terrorist attacks by the Zionist regime against Iran are the result of the regime's impunity and the inaction of the international community in the face of its crimes in Gaza and its aggressions against Lebanon and Syria, adding that all supporters and justifiers of the regime are complicit in its crimes.

Araghchi recalled the fact that the Zionist regime's military aggression against Iran occurred in the midst of negotiations and with the support and collaboration of the US, and subsequently, the US itself carried out a military strike on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities.

He stressed that the US action was a betrayal of diplomacy and an unprecedented blow to the rule of law, international law, and the non-proliferation regime.

For his part, the South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation expressed his condolences and solidarity with Iran, strongly condemned the Zionist regime’s aggression against Iranian territory and the attack on nuclear facilities.

Lampola emphasized that South Africa supports all efforts to uphold the non-proliferation regime and promote comprehensive dialogue to preserve international peace and security.

The foreign ministers of Iran and South Africa also condemned the crimes committed by the Zionist regime in Gaza and stressed the urgent need for the international community to act to halt the gross violations of human rights and the genocide of the Palestinian people.
