On the eve of Yalda Night, a group of Iranian philanthropists, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Pretoria, hosted dozens of orphaned children at the Iran House in Johannesburg, creating a joyful and memorable day for them. This warm and compassionate gathering aimed to promote kindness, solidarity, and social responsibility, providing a friendly and family-like atmosphere for children who need care and attention the most.
This humanitarian initiative, which has been organized for many years by Iranian philanthropists residing in South Africa in collaboration with the Iranian Embassy on the occasion of the beginning of the New Year, hosts more than 100 orphaned children each year. The organizers strive to offer the children a unique and unforgettable experience by arranging cheerful and diverse activities.
The program included children’s games, entertaining performances, joyful music, refreshments, and the distribution of gifts, all of which were warmly welcomed by the children. The genuine smiles and happiness on their faces reflected the deep impact of this meaningful and benevolent initiative—one that is rooted in Iran’s rich cultural heritage, a spirit of compassion, and a strong sense of human dignity.
This event stands as a symbol of the social cohesion of the Iranian community abroad and a vivid example of how Iranian culture aligns with universal human values. It demonstrates that kindness and social responsibility transcend geographical boundaries and can help build a brighter future for the next generation.
